CESA (The Columbus East Soccer Association) and FC Phoenix have reached agreement to integrate their programs and form a new partnership.  The new alliance was forged with the basic objective of enriching both the CESA recreational program and the FC Phoenix select program.

About CESA

The Columbus East Soccer Association (CESA) is a not-for-profit, 501C(3) organization that was established in 1984 to serve communities in the East and Southeast areas of Columbus. With our move to the Value City Furniture Fields at Easton in September, 2000; we now also serve communities in the North and Northeast areas of the city. CESA is a member of Ohio South Youth Soccer Association (OSYSA), an affiliated member of the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), the principal governing body of soccer in America.
CESA is an independent association founded on the basic principle that the game should be FUN, SAFE, and DEVELOPMENTAL in nature. We constantly strive to provide our members a family-friendly environment in which everyone (players, parents, coaches and officials) can learn the game and develop a life-long appreciation for it.

The League offers programs for players age 4 through high school. All games are played at the Value City Furniture Fields at Easton, a 45 acre complex that is part of the Easton Town Center Development area, near the intersection of Morse and Sunbury Roads.

Recreational Program

The CESA Recreation Program serves as the foundation of the organization and is the very heart and soul of what we do. The basic objective of the program is really quite simple - to provide a safe environment for kids to learn and enjoy the game.
The League offers free, continuous educational opportunities to all of our volunteer coaches; assigns only USSF certified referees for all matches, utilizes age-appropriate formats of play; and maintains a premier playing facility.

  • Teams are formed by neighborhood so kids can play with their classmates and for the convenience of practice locations. Teams are allowed to practice no more than two times per week. Games are played on Saturday mornings. Both the Fall and Spring Seasons run for 8 weeks. The Fall Season begins the week after Labor Day. The Spring Season typically begins the first week in April.
  • The CESA Recreation Program is developmental and progressive in nature.
  • The Tiny Tots program is an instructional program for 4 year olds that introduces players to the fundamentals of the game, in a non-threatening, fun, non-game format.
  • The Micro Soccer program (for 5-9 year olds) is designed to maximize individual, player involvement through a small-sided game format.
  • The structure of our Developmental Program (for 9-12 year olds) begins to resemble the “adult” version of the game in field size, field markings, and the Laws of the Game.
  • Separate programs have been established for Middle School and High School aged players to address the unique needs of these groups.
  • Separate, Girls Divisions exist at the Under 8, Under 10, Under 12 and Middle School age groups.
  • The CESA Soccer Sunday program is a once-a-week training program designed to supplement the player’s recreational experience with a "little something extra" - provided by certified instructors.
